CMA CGM has announced a comprehensive series of service enhancements across its Asia–Mexico–West Coast South America (WCSA) network, introducing direct port calls, optimized rotations, and expanded feeder links to improve schedule reliability and strengthen its position in the fast-growing Asia–Latin America trade lane.
The adjustments reflect CMA CGM’s ongoing strategy to adapt to evolving market demand, particularly for time-sensitive reefer cargo and growing volumes across emerging hubs in both Central and South America. With competitive transit times and broader coverage, the updated services are designed to support both regional exporters and Asia-based manufacturers supplying the Latin American market.
M2X – Mexico Express: Strengthening Mexico and WCCA Connectivity
The M2X service will add a direct call at Buenaventura (COBUN), increasing access to Colombia while maintaining strong schedule reliability into Mexico’s key gateways. The updated rotation will be: Shekou – Ningbo – Shanghai – Tianjin – Qingdao – Busan – Manzanillo – Lazaro Cardenas – Buenaventura. The inaugural sailing is scheduled for May 9, 2025, with the CC ADONIS.
The enhanced M2X will also serve as a transshipment platform for West Coast Central America via new connections at Buenaventura and Lazaro Cardenas. Three newly launched MAYA loops (MAYA 1, 2, and 3) will provide additional coverage to Balboa, Puerto Caldera, Corinto, Puerto Quetzal, and Acajutla, enabling consistent weekly services into secondary markets that are seeing increased demand from regional importers and exporters.
ACSA 1 – Fastest Direct Access to Chile via Southbound Rotation
In a major shift, the ACSA 1 service will reverse its South America rotation, introducing San Antonio (CLSAI) as its first call on the continent, significantly reducing transit times into Chile, a key market for perishable and agricultural exports. The revised rotation is: Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – San Antonio – Chancay – Callao – Posorja – Yokohama. The first southbound sailing under the new structure is set for May 14, 2025, with the CMA CGM LEGACY.
M2A – New Mexico-to-Andes Direct Service
CMA CGM will also launch the new M2A service, providing direct links from Central and North China into Mexico and the Andean region. The rotation includes: Dalian – Ningbo – Shanghai – Qingdao – Ensenada – Manzanillo – Lazaro Cardenas – Buenaventura – Guayaquil – Chancay – Shanghai – Dalian. The maiden voyage aboard the CSCL ASIA will depart Dalian on May 17, 2025.
The network redesign allows CMA CGM to better serve exporters handling refrigerated commodities, automotive parts, manufacturing goods, and consumer products, while supporting Asia’s sustained trade integration with Latin America. With increased schedule discipline, improved feeder coverage, and faster transit options into high-demand markets like Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, the carrier is positioning itself to capitalize on one of the fastest-growing east-west container corridors.
The Asia–Latin America trade has seen accelerating growth as sourcing diversification, regional free trade agreements, and nearshoring strategies reshape global supply chains. CMA CGM’s expanded offering is designed to capture these flows with agile service structures, leveraging its growing global fleet and scale in both mainline and feeder operations.
