Further expanding its global ground network services, CEVA Logistics has recently launched numerous cross-border services connecting European, Middle Eastern and Asian markets. Combining the expertise of its trucking and rail teams to deliver the services, the company is offering customers end-to-end ground solutions.

Daily CEVA containers moving between Turkey, Germany

CEVA Logistics uses its mega-box trailers and 45 High Cube Pallet Wide (HCPW) containers to offer customers a daily, direct rail connection from Istanbul’s Halkali rail terminal to the rail terminal in Duisburg. The secure, end-to-end intermodal service provides a transit time of six days. On arrival in Duisburg, corresponding operations are overseen by CEVA’s European Control Tower team, supporting customer deliveries to their final destinations using CEVA’s extensive trucking network.

Weekly Rail solution from Vietnam to Germany via China

CEVA Logistics has also recently launched a block train rail solution to connect Vietnam to Europe via China. The service can also be combined with other multi-modal solutions, including truck-rail or sea-rail options, for customers looking to make efficient connections between locations in Southeast Asia and Europe. Rail volume growth for CEVA’s China-Europe rail solutions more than doubled in 2021 compared with 2020 as the company operated 135 block trains in 2021 vs. 50 in 2020.

In addition to the block train transport, CEVA can handle container consolidation and trucking services to the Vietnam rail terminal, manage customs clearance at both ends and in transit, and provide a single end-to-end equipment solution, eliminating transloading requirements. The service also includes leading visibility, disruption management and shipment optimization.

Multi-modal solution between China and Southeast Asia

CEVA also offers a new multi-modal truck-rail-truck solution to alleviate customer concerns regarding border congestion along routes between China and many Southeast Asian countries. The new solution is a reliable option for customers to move cargo in the region, with a door-to-door lead time of 4 to 8 days. The service offers customers pick-up through the CEVA trucking network in China and then uses CEVA block trains between Pinxiang, Nanning, Kunming, Xiamen and Chongqing in China through Vietnam or Laos into Thailand, where the CEVA trucking network again picks up to deliver shipments to the final destinations, including in Malaysia and Singapore.

Xavier Bour, global head of Ground, CEVA Logistics, said: “Our commitment to responsive logistics means that we constantly listen to our customers’ needs and assess market dynamics. As a result, we continue to offer new, complex logistics solutions along strategic routes that prove to be both effective and efficient. Through our secure global network, from pick-up to delivery, our end-to-end Ground solutions give customers better control in a volatile market.”
