In January 2022, Bolloré Logistics Japan welcomed its first Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) to deliver sustainable trucking solutions for customers in the luxury sector.

In collaboration with a key customer in the luxury sector, Louis Vuitton, the first HEV will be used for unit load device (ULD) deliveries and aims to reduce overall CO2 emissions for the customer.

Hitoshi OHTA, Head of Operations at Bolloré Logistics Japan, said, “The switch to a hybrid electric truck for deliveries will help to reduce CO2 emissions by 6 to 10% compared to diesel trucks.”

The launch of an HEV in Bolloré Logistics’ trucking solution for Louis Vuitton is driven by both companies’ shared commitment to sustainability and marks a new stage in the collaboration between the two companies.

“We’re pleased to welcome our first hybrid electric truck in Japan, which is dedicated to supporting our customers in the luxury sector in achieving their sustainability goals. Our aim at Bolloré Logistics Japan is to ensure that our customers get their cargo delivered efficiently, on time, and in a sustainable way. This is the first step in reducing our CO2 emissions from transportation. In the longer term, we aim to work together with all stakeholders in our supply chain to deploy more sustainable solutions,” said Fabien Giordano, CEO of North Asia, Bolloré Logistics.

Reducing CO2 in road transport is a part of Bolloré Logistics’ sustainability program – Powering Sustainable Logistics, which aims to reduce the company’s transport services scope 3 CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030 (based on 2019 emissions).
