CEVA Logistics is offering its worldwide Ground & Rail customers and carrier network improved, real-time visibility through a new strategic alliance announced today with project44, a leading provider of supply chain visibility solutions. The advanced track and trace services will be rolled out globally over the next year.

The visibility solutions will cover all of CEVA’s global ground and rail operations, spanning from domestic distribution networks to cross-border, multi-modal solutions and from B2B inbound to manufacturing environments to B2C home deliveries. Additionally, CEVA’s existing visibility tools, including driver apps, GPS devices and web portals, will be combined with the new solution to create an overall, expanded visibility platform.

CEVA will gain significant efficiencies using project44 as its primary source of visibility data integration thanks to its API-first approach and Network Management Center. In addition to the systems integration support, CEVA Logistics and its customers will receive improved visibility with real-time GPS, dynamic ETA and geofencing capabilities becoming the norm for full truckload and parcel or LTL delivery legs—all regardless of carrier or region.

Direct benefits for all stakeholders

CEVA Logistics partner carriers will also benefit from this global partnership by gaining access to the visibility portal from which they will manage their own data. Improved visibility supported by advanced analytics, exception management, and collaborative workflows will increase on-time performance, reduce inefficiencies during loading or unloading, and ultimately allow CEVA, its customers, and its carrier partners to anticipate potential supply chain disruptions better.

Data stewardship for industry transformation

project44 has proven that its growing network and technology capabilities can handle complex transport scenarios and challenging data sets, making it the best partner to support an industry needing transformation.

While data optimization in the supply chain industry is widely championed, challenges remain concerning data quality and connectivity in a fragmented market. Bringing solutions adapted to all situations and available to all stakeholders to drive data standardization and transparency in the supply chain industry is a common goal shared by the two companies.

Xavier Bour, global leader for Ground & Rail, CEVA Logistics, said: “As good as plans may be, thousands of decisions to adapt execution are made every day by our CEVA Ground & Rail team, as well as our customers’ teams and supporting carriers. The better-informed everyone is, the better the decisions will be. Our commitment to seamless, responsive logistics demands a high level of data integrity and connectivity, and we believe project44 has the leading capabilities and network to create the visibility needed for a better supply chain.”

Jett McCandless, CEO and Founder, project44, commented: “Digitalization for trucking companies is no longer optional, but, in many cases, required even to be considered by 3PLs and large shippers. We’re thrilled to work with CEVA, whose diverse and sophisticated operations will support project44’s global carrier network expansion and help trucking companies achieve ‘preferred carrier’ status.”
