Yusen Logistics supported the baseball equipment donation project, “LIONS BASEBALL FOR THE WORLD”, by the Saitama Seibu Lions, by transporting baseball equipment for free to children in Cambodia.

Seibu Lions Inc., which manages the Saitama Seibu Lions, has been conducting the project since 2013 to collect unused baseball equipment and shoes from players and fans and donate them to children overseas as part of its baseball promotion activities. In past projects, about 34,300 items have been donated to the Federated States of Micronesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. In addition, Yusen Logistics company has provided free transportation since 2015. Unfortunately, due to the spread of COVID-19, the collection from fans in 2020 and 2021 was suspended, but baseball equipment provided by players will be donated to Cambodia this year.

Last year, a ceremony was held at Belluna Dome before departing for Cambodia. Then, on behalf of Seibu Lions Inc., Nien-Ting Wu handed the equipment to Hiroto Enomoto, General Manager of our company’s East Japan Sales Division 1. Finally, Yusen Logistics shipped them to Cambodia, where they will be delivered to local children.
