PSA BDP Enhance Supply Chain Solutions

PSA BDP, a leading global logistics and supply chain solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in ED Forwarding, a Mexico-based logistics solutions provider. This acquisition significantly strengthens PSA BDP’s foothold in Mexico and enhances its capability to better serve customers with an expanded suite of supply chain solutions, particularly in cross-border logistics and customhouse brokerage activities.

Strategic Expansion in a Key Trade Hub

Mexico’s strategic position as a bridge between North and South America makes it a critical hub for cross-border trade, with access to both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans providing vital proximity for international shipping routes. With the ongoing trend of nearshoring from Asia to Mexico, there is a growing demand for expanded distribution networks capable of providing comprehensive solutions. Headquartered in Mexico City, ED Forwarding is a well-established entity in the region, serving diverse customers across multiple industry verticals.

Customers are set to benefit from PSA’s global network of deep-sea, rail, and inland terminals, PSA BDP’s expertise in innovative end-to-end supply chain management solutions, and affiliated businesses in marine and digital services.

Deepening a Long-Standing Partnership

This acquisition marks the next chapter in a longstanding partnership between the two companies, as ED Forwarding has served as a partner agent within PSA BDP’s global network for over 10 years. By integrating more closely, PSA BDP and ED Forwarding will leverage their combined expertise, infrastructure, and networks to deliver greater value to customers both within and beyond the region. Customers will gain from an enhanced service portfolio, increased operational efficiencies, and access to a more robust logistics network tailored to the evolving demands of the market.

Hector Gonzalez, Deputy CEO, PSA BDP, commented: “Our investment in ED Forwarding represents a natural evolution of our longstanding partnership and an exciting opportunity for growth; I could not be more pleased to firm up this agreement. The synergies between our companies create tremendous opportunities for innovation, growth, and enhanced customer experience.”

Jorge Pedroza Paez, Managing Director, ED Forwarding, echoed this sentiment: “Having worked closely with PSA BDP for many years, we are excited to formalize this partnership and accelerate our shared vision for the future. Together, we are well-positioned to better serve our customers in a key market.”

The transaction remains subject to formal approvals by the relevant authorities and other customary closing conditions.
