Neste DB Schenker Diesel Adoption Singapore Asia-Pacific

Neste and DB Schenker, a global logistics service provider, have announced an extended collaboration aimed at increasing DB Schenker’s use of Neste MY Renewable Diesel across the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership underscores both companies’ shared commitment to achieving lower-emission logistics.

Successful Pilot and Environmental Impact

The collaboration follows a successful trial conducted in Singapore from December 2024 to February 2025, during which Neste MY Renewable Diesel was utilized for the first time in DB Schenker’s land transport operations in the country. As Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a direct, “drop-in” replacement for fossil diesel compatible with all diesel engines, the transition required no additional investment or modifications to vehicles or existing fuel distribution infrastructure.

Given that the land transport sector accounts for approximately 15% of carbon emissions in Singapore, the adoption of Neste MY Renewable Diesel is significant. This renewable fuel can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 90% over its life cycle compared to fossil diesel, effectively demonstrating a viable solution for DB Schenker to substantially reduce its land transport emissions.

Leadership Perspectives

Ee Pin Lee, Head of Commercial APAC, Renewable Products at Neste, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, marking the inaugural use of Neste MY Renewable Diesel for road transport in Singapore. He emphasized the crucial role this renewable solution plays in DB Schenker’s sustainability journey and expressed Neste’s commitment to expanding the partnership in Singapore and beyond to foster a lower-emission logistics sector.

Christoph Matthes, Senior Vice President, Head of Land Transport in APAC at DB Schenker, affirmed DB Schenker’s commitment to minimizing its ecological footprint. He stated that the expanded adoption of Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a key step in this commitment and expressed hope for transforming the entire industry with partners and customers by using renewable diesel as a viable solution for decarbonizing land transport operations in the region.

Broader Collaboration

Neste and DB Schenker have a history of successful collaboration, including DB Schenker’s use of Neste MY Renewable Diesel in its light distribution vehicles in Helsinki and Turku, Finland. Neste has also partnered with DB Schenker to pilot high-power charging services for heavy-duty vehicles in Finland, showcasing a broader commitment to sustainable logistics solutions.
