Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” LINE) participated in Techno-Ocean 2025, held at the Kobe International Exhibition Hall No. 2 from 27 to 29 November.
At its exhibition booth, the company presented three initiatives: the Seawing automated kite system using wind power, its offshore support vessel business, and the K-Assist Project, which focuses on technologies related to automated ship operations. The displays were presented through panels and video content, with visitors attending throughout the three-day event.

On 28 November, Hiroto Arai, General Manager of the “K” LINE Environment and Technical Strategy Group, delivered a presentation during the exhibitor session outlining the company’s decarbonisation initiatives. The presentation covered measures including fuel conversion, the use of natural energy sources, and the application of digital technologies to improve operational efficiency.
The session also addressed initiatives to supply alternative fuels such as LNG, as well as new business areas and technologies supporting broader decarbonisation efforts, including offshore support vessels and liquefied CO₂ transportation.
“K” LINE said the initiatives form part of its long-term environmental policy, “K” LINE Environmental Vision 2050, which aims to reduce environmental impact while supporting the transition towards more sustainable maritime operations.
