CULines (CUL) has signed its 2025 Annual Donation Agreement with Dalian Maritime University (DMU), marking the fourth straight year the company has contributed RMB 1 million to the institution. The donation is intended to support maritime education and research, demonstrating CUL’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The signing ceremony, held at the university on June 23, was attended by CUL President Kevin Ding, DMU Vice President Zhao Baogang, and Secretary of the University Party Committee Xu Minqiang. During the meeting, both parties expressed a desire to strengthen collaboration in various areas, including crew and maritime talent development, internships, and industry-alumni networks.
Fostering Future Maritime Talent
The 2025 donation will be directed toward key initiatives, including the establishment of the CULines Scholarship and a research project focused on maritime culture. To date, CUL, an enterprise founded by DMU alumni, has donated over RMB 4 million to its alma mater. The company’s ongoing support is part of its broader commitment to responsible operations and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices.
In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, Xu Minqiang presented CUL with a model of the training vessel “Xin Hong Zhuan,” signifying the shared goals of the two organizations in advancing the maritime sector. Later, CUL President Kevin Ding and DMU President Shan Hongjun held further discussions on industry development trends, talent cultivation mechanisms, and joint efforts to drive the high-quality development of the maritime sector.
