COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers (CSSC) convened its 2025 Global Partner Conference at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center, drawing over 1,200 delegates from across the specialized transport industry. The event, themed “Specialized Symbiosis, Strategic Synergy, Shared Success,” served as a platform to explore the future of shipping amidst digital intelligence and the industry’s transition to green, low-carbon practices.

A highlight of the conference was the “Outcome Release,” which unveiled groundbreaking innovations in services, materials, standards, and technology. Focused on customer needs and market orientation, these innovations represent premier comprehensive solutions for the industry:

  • New Services: A “troika of services” designed to drive a new global logistics ecosystem.
  • New Materials: Pioneering composite materials poised to reshape “packaging revolution.”
  • New Standard: “Centimeter-level accuracy” establishing a new benchmark for safety.
  • New Technology: “Large model + blockchain” steering the course for digital and intelligent shipping.

During the conference, CSSC also strengthened collaborative ties by signing strategic cooperation and COA agreements with 17 partners. A white paper on enhancing port and carrier collaboration was co-signed with global port representatives, aiming to foster a new era of efficient, convenient, and secure port-carrier cooperation.

Strategic Vision and Regional Insights

Chairman Raymond Chen delivered a keynote speech, reflecting on CSSC’s dynamic journey and highlighting significant achievements in 2024 despite challenging market conditions. He shared insights into the company’s strategic vision for 2025, emphasizing stronger global partnerships and continued success in the Middle East, Red Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean markets through swift decision-making and precise operational strategies.

For 2025, CSSC announced plans to accelerate strategic expansion in India and West Asia, integrating Eastern wisdom and Western innovative thinking. Operating under a “longhaul-driven, regional-interconnectivity” framework, the company aims to establish a comprehensive liner service network, optimize operational efficiency, and deepen collaboration with partners. This strategic shift will transition the company from “market breakthrough” to “market strengthening,” solidifying CSSC’s position as a key player in global shipping.

Collaborative Forums and Industry Initiatives

The conference included thorough discussions across various supply chain topics during five customer salons, covering new energy, advanced manufacturing, bulk commodities, offshore logistics, asphalt, pulp, and automotive supply chains. Concurrently, an overseas agent forum, themed “Deepening Cooperation for a Win-Win Future,” provided a platform for targeted discussions.

A significant outcome of the event was the introduction of the “Lingnan Initiative” by CSSC, in partnership with global stakeholders. This initiative advocates for “symbiosis, synergy, and cooperation” across the industry chain’s upstream and downstream sectors. Its goal is to foster a high-quality development ecosystem, mitigating risks through symbiosis, driving development through synergy, and accelerating growth through collaboration. This approach aims to promote shared success and contribute to the high-quality development along the Belt and Road, initiating a new era of industrial chain ecological cooperation.

The conference concluded with numerous breakthrough cooperation intentions in areas such as supply chain coordination, joint development of technical standards, and digital intelligent transformation, all bolstering the high-quality development of the global shipping industry.

Since its inception in 2011, the COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Global Partner Conference has been successfully convened nine times, serving as a critical exchange platform between the company and its global partners. Given CSSC’s prominent status as a world-leading specialized fleet owner, the conference continues to be a uniquely valuable event in the global specialized transportation domain.
