COSCO SHIPPING Logistics Squirrel Helicopter

Recently, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics (Zhenjiang) completed an end-to-end transportation task to deliver a Squirrel helicopter from a Jiaxing-based factory to an airport in Zhenjiang. The refined service won great acclaim from the customer.

Purchased by the customer from Air France, the Squirrel helicopter is 12.94 meters long, 2.53 meters wide, 3.34 meters high and weighs 2 tons. It needs to be tested and maintained at the Jiaxing-based factory before being transported to a designated airport in Zhenjiang over a long distance.

As the helicopter is a kind of precision machinery, with the internal instruments, electronic devices, and other related parts assembled before transportation, it has higher transportation requirements with more complex operations. A little mistake will lead to problems, such as misalignment of the internal parts.

After receiving the commission from the customer, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics (Zhenjiang), based on its differentiated transportation services and rich experience in aircraft transport data analysis and operation, tailored a propeller disassembly and separate packaging plan to the customer, adopting a more stable air cushion suspension carrier transport scheme together with the fuselage.

In operation, the project team supervised the whole process and coordinated the airport’s special hoisting team for accurate operation to ensure the safety of hoisting. After loading the helicopter, the team bundled and reinforced the helicopter strictly following the standardized procedures solved the problem posed by high roadblocks along the way, and delivered the “Squirrel” safely to the destination airport.
