CNC, the intra-Asia specialist of the CMA CGM Group, has announced significant enhancements to its JP8 service. The revamped loop strengthens the maritime link between Japan, South China, and the Philippines, offering a range of new direct calls and expanded coverage to support regional supply chains.

The service is now fully operational, with the updated rotation providing a specialized connection for shippers looking for reliable, direct transit between previously underserved regional ports.

The JP8 service distinguishes itself by offering the first direct link in the market between several Japanese regional ports and the Philippines. This specialized coverage eliminates the need for transshipment, reducing transit times and handling risks.

Direct Port Connections:

  • Japan: Sendai, Omaezaki, and Moji.
  • Philippines: Batangas and Manila South.

The updated rotation also includes a stop at Subic Bay, further broadening the service’s reach into the northern Philippine industrial zones.

Strategic Flexibility in South China

To support the high-volume trade coming out of South China, CNC has optimized the JP8 schedule to include multiple hub calls. This provides shippers with greater convenience and more options to meet demanding production timelines.

Key South China Highlights:

  • Dual Hub Calls: The service now features calls in both Shekou and Nansha, providing maximum flexibility for cargo moving out of the Pearl River Delta.
  • Enhanced Reach via Shantou: Expanded coverage in Shantou allows local exporters to connect seamlessly to global markets through South China transshipment hubs.
  • Fujian Access: The inclusion of Xiamen ensures comprehensive coverage across the primary manufacturing regions of the Chinese coast.

Optimized Port Rotation

The JP8 service follows a comprehensive loop designed to balance regional demand with operational efficiency:

Sendai – Tokyo – Omaezaki – Moji – Xiamen – Shantou – Shekou – Nansha – Subic Bay – Batangas – Manila South – Sendai

Reliability through Dedicated Operations

As a CNC-operated service, the JP8 offers shippers dedicated capacity and full operational control over the schedule. This reliability is critical for businesses managing just-in-time inventory or time-sensitive consumer goods.

The enhancement of the JP8 service reflects CNC’s ongoing commitment to delivering tailored solutions that bridge the gap between major trade hubs and growing regional markets. By connecting regional ports like Sendai and Moji directly to the Philippines, CNC is helping to unlock new trade opportunities across the Intra-Asia corridor.
