Optimized Rotations Enhance Reliability for Perishables and Reefer Cargo

CNC, the intra-Asia specialist of the CMA CGM Group, has announced significant upgrades to its CP2 and JP8 services. The enhancements are designed to provide faster transit times and superior schedule reliability for shippers moving goods between the Philippines, China, and Japan, with a specific focus on the burgeoning fresh produce and temperature-sensitive sectors.

The revamped rotations introduce strategic port calls that improve access to key manufacturing and consumption hubs while streamlining the flow of reefer cargo.

CP2: Focused Reliability for South China Trade

The updated CP2 service has been optimized to improve schedule predictability. A key change in the rotation is the insertion of Cebu, replacing Manila North, which allows for a more stable and efficient loop.

  • Direct Export Links: The service provides a direct maritime bridge from Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro to the major South China gateways of Shekou, Nansha, and Hong Kong.
  • Perishable Support: The streamlined route is ideal for exporters of Philippine bananas, pineapples, and other fresh produce requiring rapid transit to Chinese markets.

The new CP2 rotation is: Shekou – Hong Kong – Nansha – Cebu – Davao – Cagayan de Oro – Shekou

JP8: Strengthening the Japan–Philippines Corridor

The JP8 service (formerly CP3) has also been bolstered to provide deeper coverage of the Japanese market and expanded options in the southern Philippines.

  • New Strategic Call: The addition of Cagayan de Oro to the JP8 loop creates new opportunities for temperature-controlled shipments from Northern Mindanao.
  • Direct Kanto & Kansai Access: Shipments from the Philippines now benefit from direct connections to Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kobe, as well as Moji, offering broader flexibility for both dry and reefer imports/exports.

The new JP8 rotation is: Tokyo – Yokohama – Kobe – Moji – Shekou – Nansha – Subic Bay – Batangas – Cagayan de Oro – Davao – Tokyo

Dedicated Capacity and Faster Transits

As these services are exclusively operated by CNC, customers benefit from dedicated space allocation and full operational control by the carrier. This autonomy ensures that schedule consistency is maintained, providing peace of mind for supply chains that depend on “just-in-time” deliveries.

The enhancements reflect CNC’s ongoing commitment to the Philippine market, ensuring that local outports are seamlessly connected to the group’s extensive global network.
