CNC, the intra-Asia specialist of the CMA CGM Group, has announced the launch of the BY8 service. This new feeder loop is designed to provide smarter, faster, and more flexible maritime connections between the key markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Myanmar.

By operating the BY8 as a fully CNC-managed service, the carrier ensures tighter operational control and dependable schedule integrity for regional shippers requiring high-frequency connections.

Direct Market Access and Streamlined Routing

The BY8 service is engineered to reduce unnecessary transshipments, allowing cargo to reach its destination with greater predictability. Key logistical advantages include:

  • Direct Hub Connectivity: Shippers gain direct calls between Singapore, Belawan, and Yangon, bypassing traditional bottlenecks.
  • Malaysian Integration: A direct link between Port Klang and Belawan streamlines the supply chain for goods moving between Malaysia and Indonesia, minimizing handling risks.
  • Increased Frequency: Additional sailings between Singapore and Port Klang West offer manufacturers greater flexibility to align shipping schedules with production timelines.

Gateway to Global Markets for Myanmar

A primary objective of the BY8 service is to accelerate Myanmar’s export capabilities. By providing an efficient link to Singapore, the service offers a seamless bridge to the CMA CGM Group’s extensive global network.

The BY8 Port Rotation:

Singapore – Port Klang – Belawan – Singapore – Yangon (MITT) – Yangon (AWPT) – Singapore

This rotation ensures that exports from both the Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT) and the Asia World Port Terminal (AWPT) can reach international destinations with significantly improved transit efficiency.

Consistent Service Standards

As a fully CNC-operated loop, the BY8 provides consistent service standards that businesses depend on for time-sensitive cargo. This dedicated control allows for more agile responses to regional port conditions and ensures that schedule integrity remains a top priority.

The introduction of BY8 reflects CNC’s commitment to strengthening the Southeast Asian maritime ecosystem, providing a more resilient and connected trade corridor for the region’s growing economies.
