New Rotation Includes Hong Kong and Itajaí for Market-Leading Transit Times

CMA CGM has announced a significant update to its SEAS 3 service, enhancing connectivity between the Far East and the East Coast of South America. The revised setup, which officially transitioned at the end of December 2025, introduces strategic calls at Hong Kong and Itajaí, Brazil, to meet evolving market dynamics and support regional business growth.

The service, operated as a weekly fixed-day loop, now provides a more robust bridge for Central China cargo while offering specialized coverage for the Southern Brazilian market.

Key Structural Enhancements

The updated SEAS 3 rotation is designed to offer the fastest transit times currently available in the market for several key corridors:

  • Expanded Asian Reach: The inclusion of Hong Kong strengthens the service’s connectivity to the major South China manufacturing hub.
  • Brazilian Deepening: Weekly calls at Itajaí complement existing coverage in Santos, providing a dedicated solution for shippers in the Santa Catarina region.
  • Competitive Transit Times: Export shipments from Itajaí can now reach Singapore in just 25 days and Shanghai in 33 days.

The new SEAS 3 rotation is: Shanghai – Hong Kong – Shekou – Singapore – Santos – Itajaí – Singapore – Shanghai

Smooth Implementation and Transition

The new rotation was inaugurated by the m/v “PRESTIGE” (voyage 0WO25W1MA), which departed Shanghai on 30 December 2025. To ensure operational stability, the transition was managed to maintain high schedule reliability despite the shift in port calls.

CMA CGM also highlighted that the SEAS 3 service continues to leverage its reliable feedering network at the Santos hub. This ensures weekly connections to Northeast Brazil via the Braco service and to the Plate region (Uruguay/Argentina) via the Plata service. Shippers moving cargo to Caribbean destinations also remain supported through the Brazex Northbound relay, reinforcing CMA CGM’s “End-to-End” logistics capability in the Southern Hemisphere.
