Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a global leader in logistics and shipping, has been awarded a contract to operate the vehicle terminal in Gothenburg, Sweden. This strategic move expands the company’s logistics services and strengthens its presence in the Nordic region.

The Port of Gothenburg is the largest port in Scandinavia for vehicles and serves as a key hub connecting the Nordics with major global regions. By taking over terminal operations, Wallenius Wilhelmsen aims to enhance operational capabilities and provide seamless and efficient logistics solutions.

“Operating the Gothenburg terminal strengthens our logistics network and is a strategic milestone that supports our vision of sustainable and innovative growth,” says John Felitto, COO of Logistics Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

Enhancing Logistics Services

Wallenius Wilhelmsen plans to partner with the Port of Gothenburg to transform the terminal into a “one-stop-shop” for all carriers and customers, offering integrated supply chain solutions. This will enhance the port’s ability to provide efficient and reliable logistics services for the automotive industry.

“With Wallenius Wilhelmsen being the terminal operator at the Port of Gothenburg, the aim is to develop a partnership with the Port of Gothenburg to act as an integrated supply chain partner and transform the terminal into a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all carriers and customers,” added Felitto.

This strategic move reinforces Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s commitment to providing comprehensive logistics solutions and strengthens its position as a leader in the global automotive logistics market.
