Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has announced the launch of its new Southeast Asia Gulf India (SGI) service, which offers direct connectivity between Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East. This new service replaces the previous VGI service and is designed to provide more comprehensive coverage within Southeast Asia and India.

The new butterfly service will cover Laem Chabang, Singapore, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Mundra, and Jakarta. The first loop of the butterfly service will depart from Laem Chabang on May 16th, while the second rotation will depart from Cai Mep on May 19th.

ESL’s expansion into the Indonesian market is particularly noteworthy, with the call at Jakarta marking the company’s first foray into this growing market. The country presents immense potential, with a positive macroeconomic outlook and a strong domestic market.

“We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new SGI service,” said a spokesperson for ESL. “This new service provides our customers with direct connectivity between Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East, and we are excited to expand our coverage within the region.”

With the addition of Singapore, Jakarta, and Mundra to the service rotation, ESL’s SGI service is poised to become a major player in the shipping industry, offering customers a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective way to move goods across the region.
