Independently Operated Service Establishes Direct Shipping Route to East India
SITC Container Lines has announced a significant enhancement to its Asia-India service network with the successful launch of the new FIE service (Far East – India Express). The official maiden voyage ceremony for the SITC Cagayan was held on September 25, 2025, at the DP World Terminal in Chennai, marking a major upgrade to SITC’s maritime logistics capabilities between China and India.
The FIE service is independently operated by SITC Container Lines, underscoring the company’s commitment to growing its presence in the crucial India trade corridor. The new route is designed to establish direct shipping connections between China and East India.
By eliminating transshipment points and offering a direct link, SITC is committed to providing customers with stable, highly efficient, and comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions. This strategic upgrade targets the growing trade volumes between the manufacturing hubs of China and the key consuming and industrial markets in East India, positioning SITC to capture increased market share in the intra-Asia and near-sea trade environment.
The introduction of the FIE service is part of SITC’s broader strategy to continually optimise its network structure to better serve the diverse and evolving logistics demands of its regional customers.
