Hellmann Austria 25 Years Logistics Excellence

Hellmann Austria is celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking two and a half decades of delivering innovative, reliable, and customer-focused supply chain solutions across Austria and internationally.

New Leadership and Strategic Focus

The milestone coincides with a leadership change, as Rainer Mittl assumed the role of Country Managing Director of Hellmann Austria on August 1, 2025. Under Mittl’s leadership, the company plans to build on its success and continue driving growth, supported by Austria’s strategically advantageous location in the heart of Europe. The country serves as a vital link between Northern and Southern Europe and acts as a gateway to Eastern European markets.

Mittl, along with his team and regional management, is focused on expanding the service portfolio, strengthening existing customer relationships, and entering new markets.

Piotr Zaleski, Regional CEO of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, emphasized Austria’s importance, stating, “The Austrian market plays a crucial role in achieving the global growth targets we have set for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.” He added that the country’s central location and dynamic business environment ensure it will remain a key contributor to the company’s international success.

Comprehensive Service Portfolio

Since the year 2000, Hellmann Austria has offered a full range of Airfreight, Seafreight, and Roadfreight services. This portfolio includes:

  • Airfreight: GDP-compliant pharma solutions via Austria’s key cargo airports.
  • Roadfreight: Automotive control tower management across Central and Eastern Europe, and dedicated FTL/LTL (Full-Truckload/Less-than-Truckload) options for high-tech and industrial customers.
  • Seafreight: Operating its own import consolidations from Asia and managing LCL (Less-than-Container-Load) exports. The company also utilizes its cross-dock in Vienna to efficiently serve neighboring markets such as Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.

Rainer Mittl reflected on the anniversary, stating it is “not just a milestone, it’s a testament to the trust our customers place in us and the dedication of our team.”
