CMA CGM’s Short Sea Lines Division has announced the launch of a new regional service, the Scandinavia West Coast Express (SWX), which will strengthen connectivity between Scandinavia and the Lower Baltic region. Set to begin operations on 16 July 2025, the new weekly service offers customers a more sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional land-based transport routes.
The SWX service will operate with the following port rotation: Gothenburg – Aarhus – Klaipeda – Gdansk – Gothenburg. The inaugural sailing is scheduled to depart from Gothenburg under voyage number 0C7E6E1MA.
Designed to meet rising regional trade demand, the new offering provides reliable and direct access between key Scandinavian and Baltic ports. In particular, it enhances links between Aarhus and Gothenburg to Polish and Lithuanian markets, offering shippers a greener supply chain solution by reducing reliance on road freight.
CMA CGM has also emphasised the environmental advantages of the SWX service, which aligns with the Group’s commitment to decarbonisation and improving sustainability across its logistics network. The maritime route offers lower emissions per tonne-kilometre compared to long-haul trucking, supporting the transition to more eco-friendly supply chains in Europe.
Customers will benefit from enhanced connectivity in both directions, with efficient links to CMA CGM’s wider short sea services at Gdansk and Klaipeda, and seamless integration with long-haul CMA CGM Far East services calling at Gdansk.
