CMA CGM Intra-Asia Network Revamped TVI Service

Expanded Route Connects Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia to South East India and Sri Lanka

Following its official launch in late December, the Thailand Vietnam India EC (TVI) service has successfully integrated into the CMA CGM regional network. Replacing the former IEX2 loop, the TVI service provides a significant upgrade in capacity and coverage, linking primary production hubs in Southeast Asia directly with the strategic markets of Chennai and Colombo.

The transition to the TVI service was spearheaded by the maiden voyage of the vessel CNC JAGUAR, which departed Laem Chabang on 22 December 2025. This transition reflects the carrier’s broader strategy to enhance supply chain flexibility and provide faster transit times across critical Asian trade corridors.

Optimized Port Rotation and Transit Times

The TVI service follows a streamlined weekly rotation designed to minimize delays and maximize port productivity. The sequence includes major transshipment and manufacturing gateways:

Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Singapore – Port Klang – Chennai – Colombo – Laem Chabang

One of the standout features of this revamped route is the industry-leading transit time from Vung Tau to Chennai, now achieved in 10 days. This rapid connection is particularly beneficial for high-value electronics and industrial components moving between Vietnamese manufacturing centers and South Indian markets.

Strategic Hub Integration via Colombo

Beyond its direct calls, the TVI service leverages Colombo as a primary relay point for the wider Indian Subcontinent. This allows for seamless onward connectivity to several secondary ports in the region through a reliable feeder network.

Exporters from Chennai also benefit from improved export options, utilizing the service to reach global markets via the carrier’s extensive transshipment infrastructure in Colombo and Singapore. The addition of direct calls in Laem Chabang and Vung Tau ensures that the service meets the increasing demand for cargo flow between Southeast Asia’s emerging economies and the Indian subcontinent.

By providing fixed weekly departures and dedicated capacity, the TVI service aims to offer a more stable and efficient alternative for shippers navigating the complexities of regional trade.
