Maersk Strategic Supply Chain Partnership Glass Manufacturer Kibing Group

Maersk has established a strategic supply chain partnership with Kibing Group (M) Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based subsidiary of China’s glass manufacturer and solar photovoltaic (PV) glass producer, Kibing Group.

The agreement is structured to support Kibing’s ongoing international expansion across key export markets in India, the United States, and Southeast Asia.

Supply Chain Integration and Operational Scope

The partnership originated with targeted feeder enhancements to support Kibing’s manufacturing and export operations in East Malaysia and has since expanded into an end-to-end logistics agreement:

  • Feeder Operations: Enhanced Maersk’s dedicated ocean shuttle service connecting Sabah directly to Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), accelerating regional feeder connections to mainhaul ocean services.
  • End-to-End Logistics: Expands beyond ocean freight to integrate inland transport, customs clearance, and operational supply chain optimization.
  • Contract Scope Expansion: Encompasses ongoing strategic discussions for long-term contract logistics solutions, including dedicated warehousing and distribution infrastructure.

Strategic Impact

By integrating Maersk’s ocean feeder network with landside logistics and customs management, Kibing secures a more resilient supply chain architecture for its solar PV and industrial glass exports across Asia-Pacific and transpacific trade lanes.
