Wan Hai Lines Ltd. held ship naming ceremonies for WAN HAI 355, WAN HAI 357 and WAN HAI 360, accompanied by a charity donation at Japan Marine United Corporation Kure Shipyard.

WAN HAI 355, WAN HAI 357 and WAN HAI 360 are three vessels in the series of 3,013 TEU containerships built by Japan Marine United Corporation Kure Shipyard. Miss Suzuka YOSHIDA, daughter of General Manager, Global Logistics Management Dept. of TOYOTA TSUSHO CORPORATION, Mrs Kyoko YAMANAKA, spouse of DIRECTOR, SENIOR MANAGING EXECUTIVE OFFICER, HEAD OF BUSINESS FRONTIER DEPT. of Marubeni Forest LinX Co., Ltd. and Mrs Yuko FUKUOKA, spouse of Operating Officer, General Manager of Purchasing Division of WOODONE CO., LTD., named these three vessels respectively during the ceremony.

The design of the 3,013 TEU series takes energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly aspects into account. It is equipped with fully balanced twisted bulb rudders, a pre-swirl fin and AMP (Alternative Maritime Power) system. Besides, all the ships delivered are certified with “Smart Ship” notations and meet the level of requirement for NOx Tier III. The 4th vessel – WAN HAI 355, will be delivered on 8th November 2022 and deployed in ASIA AMERICA SERVICE. These new vessels are part of Wan Hai Lines’s efforts to ensure their continuous pursuit of fleet upgrades to provide customers with the best quality service.

In addition to naming the newbuildings, Wan Hai also donated necessities to three charitable units; they are two private orphanages named Ninoshima Gakuen and Yahata Gakuen in Hiroshima and an elderly nursing home named Kure Hoseiin in Kure city. We hope this small token can benefit the local community. The charity donation represents part of Wan Hai Lines’s motto, “We carry, we care.” The company is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, providing quality service to customers and bringing love to society.
