CMA CGM , a world leader in shipping and logistics, recently delivered empty containers to Thailand via a spot call on CMA CGM’s Asia West Africa service to support Thai importers-exporters and stimulate the Thai economy.

A few weeks ago, CMA CGM’s Asia West Africa service berthed at Hutchison Ports Thailands Terminal D1 at Laem Chabang on an ad hoc call, delivering some 1,600 empty containers.

During the discharging of containers, Mr. Benoit de Quillacq, Managing Director of CMA CGM Thailandwas present at the terminal’s ship-to-shore and rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes remote-control room to ensure operations proceeded smoothly.

With CMA CGM Thailand continuously securing high shipment volumes, these empty containers are essential to keep customers’ supply chain moving. Once filled, these containers will be exported from Laem Chabang to other parts of the world via the CMA CGM Group’s maritime services.

In fact, this had been the sixth special empty container delivery by CMA CGM in a few weeks.

For most of its earlier deliveries, CMA CGM received support from its terminal partner DP World for the discharge of empties while CEVA Logistics, the CMA CGM Group’s logistics arm, contributed with its trucking service by transporting empty containers to several terminals at Laem Chabang Port and other transportation hubs in Bangkok.

CMA CGM is committed to pushing the logistics market forward and keeping world trade flowing.
