Too Good To Go CEVA Logistics 300000 Milestone UK Food Waste Initiative

Too Good To Go and its logistics partner, CEVA Logistics, have reached a major operational milestone by distributing 300,000 “Too Good To Go Parcels” across the United Kingdom. Since the initiative’s launch in October 2024, the partnership has transformed how surplus ambient food is redistributed, moving from local store pickups to a national direct-to-door delivery model.

The milestone underscores the rapid scaling of the “Parcels” service, which successfully redistributed its first 100,000 units in early 2025 and has now tripled that impact in just one year.

Bridging the Gap in the Food Supply Chain

While Too Good To Go is widely known for its “Surprise Bags” from local bakeries and supermarkets, the Parcels initiative targets waste earlier in the supply chain—at the manufacturing and distribution stages.

How the Partnership Operates:

  • Surplus Collection: Major brands send stock that is nearing its “best before” date, has cosmetic packaging imperfections, or is part of a range change to CEVA Logistics’ specialized facility in the Midlands.
  • Efficient Fulfillment: CEVA Logistics manages the warehousing, packing, and “last-mile” delivery, ensuring these shelf-stable goods reach consumers rather than landfills.
  • Consumer Access: Users order through the Too Good To Go app and receive a curated box of ambient staples delivered directly to their doorstep.

Major Brands Joining the Movement

The 300,000-parcel achievement is driven by an expanding roster of household names committed to zero-waste targets. Participating brands include:

  • Tony’s Chocolonely: Using the service to manage surplus chocolate inventory.
  • Heinz & Amoy: Offering pantry essentials like soups, beans, and sauces.
  • McVitie’s & Alpro: Providing snacks and plant-based staples.
  • Jamie Oliver: Contributing branded food products to the sustainable mix.

Global Impact and European Expansion

The success of the UK model is acting as a blueprint for Too Good To Go’s broader international strategy. As of early 2026, the company has saved over 6 million parcels globally.

Environmental & Operational Highlights:

  • Decarbonization: Redistributing these 300,000 parcels in the UK has prevented significant CO2e emissions associated with food decomposition and wasted production energy.
  • Operational Expertise: Steve Barry, Senior General Manager at CEVA Logistics, noted that reaching this milestone proves the role of “well-designed logistics” in solving environmental challenges at scale.
  • Future Growth: Following its success in the UK, Denmark, and the Netherlands, Too Good To Go is currently rolling out the Parcels service to 50% of its operational countries, including a recent high-profile launch in Japan.
