Nippon Express begins agency services in Japan for Shandong Port Shipping Group

Nippon Express, a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., has been commissioned by Shandong Port Shipping Group Co., Ltd. (SPGS), a shipping company based in Shandong Province, China, to serve as its sole agent in Japan and to operate container terminals in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, and Kobe.

As a group company of Shandong Port Group Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise headquartered in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, SPGS operates domestic coastal shipping routes in China and international cargo and passenger ferries between China and Korea. The new service will utilize two 1100-TEU class container vessels sailing between China (Port of Qingdao) and Japan (the ports of Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, and Kobe) weekly, with the first shipments arriving aboard the container ship M/V Pacanda at the Port of Yokohama on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Nippon Express has been commissioned by SPGS to serve as its exclusive agent in Japan and to provide container terminal services in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, and Kobe, beginning with the shipments entering the Port of Yokohama on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

In addition to improving convenience at Japanese ports, Nippon Express will be helping expand business with the coastal areas of North China, where further development is anticipated.

From now on, the Nippon Express Group will be working to further improve service and quality, envisioning development in conjunction with its coastal and rail transport services.
