MSC has announced updates to its NWC to South Africa Service, which will take effect from March 2024. The changes include a direct call at Bremerhaven, which will provide increased flexibility for customers shipping cargo between Germany and South Africa.

The new service rotation will cover the following ports: London Gateway, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Le Havre, Sines, Las Palmas, Coega, Durban, Coega, Cape Town, Las Palmas, and then back to London Gateway. The first vessel on this updated rotation will be MSC BRANKA, scheduled to arrive in Bremerhaven on 19 March 2024.

In addition to this, MSC will also implement a new feeder service called the Ingonyama Service. This will link the port of East London in South Africa with Coega and operate every week. The new service will provide a direct sea connection between the manufacturing hub of East London and one of South Africa’s main ports, making it a practical alternative to truck transport.

The Ingonyama Service will commence with the TOKATA F departing from Coega on 25 March 2024. The new service coverage increases customer flexibility and expands MSC’s loading port coverage to and from South Africa. Additionally, the feeder service will provide improved options for customers shipping goods from the industrial hub of East London with connections to MSC’s global network.
