Kuehne+Nagel and The LEGO Group are expanding their long-standing partnership with the opening of a new Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Dong Nai, Vietnam. The centre will serve as a distribution hub for products manufactured at the LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam factory, the LEGO Group’s newest facility in Ho Chi Minh City which opened earlier this year.

This new RDC will play a critical role in supporting the LEGO Group’s long-term growth by creating a shorter and more agile supply chain in the Asia Pacific region.

Strategic Operations and Scope

Kuehne+Nagel will manage end-to-end logistics operations for the RDC, including transport from the LEGO Group’s Vietnam and Mainland China factories, customs clearance, bonded warehousing, sea freight, and delivery to Local Distribution Centres (LDCs) throughout the region.

The RDC will initially supply markets including Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan, with other markets, including India and Indonesia, planned to follow in 2026. This new facility is the LEGO Group’s fifth worldwide and second in Asia Pacific, joining an existing centre in Shanghai, China, and following the opening of a facility in Belgium in 2024, also operated by Kuehne+Nagel.

Capacity and Sustainability

At the time of its opening, the facility covers 10,200 sqm. Once fully complete and operational in 2026, it will expand to 16,360 sqm, have capacity for 33,000 pallets, and process more than 150 containers per week, providing sufficient capability for future growth.

The Dong Nai RDC is LEED Gold-certified and features solar panels and smart energy meters to optimise energy consumption and reduce emissions. Kuehne+Nagel also actively supports the LEGO Group’s broader sustainability goals, including:

  • The use of Sustainable Marine Fuel for all global full container load shipments.
  • The deployment of electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries.

Bjoern Traemann, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel Vietnam, noted that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to both operational excellence and long-term sustainability, ensuring a supply chain built for the future.
