Hutchison Ports Thailand Welcomed MSC ISTANBUL on Her First Call in Thailand

Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) recently held a welcoming event for the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) container vessel – MSC ISTANBUL – at their Terminal D, Laem Chabang Port. During the event, Mr. Peter Blohm, Managing Director of MSC Thailand received mementos from Pol. Sub-Lt. Montri Rerkchamnian, Director of Laem Chabang Port, and Mr. Stephen Ashworth, Managing Director of Thailand & South East Asia for Hutchison Ports. 

MSC ISTANBUL is operating under the weekly “2M Lion-Jaguar” service, which connects Europe with Asia and the West Coast of the United States. She arrived for the first time at HPT’s most technologically advanced terminal with a length of 399 meters and a capacity of 16,652 TEUs.

The vessel is capable of supporting 176,490 maximum gross tons, making her the largest container vessel ever called towards Laem Chabang Port and Thailand.
