Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has opened a state-of-the-art contract logistics center in Truganina, Australia, doubling its warehouse capacity in the Melbourne metropolitan area. The new facility strengthens the company’s market position in the Asia-Pacific region and supports its strategy to provide innovative, sustainable, and scalable logistics solutions for a broad customer base.

Hellmann has operated in Australia since 1987, expanding into New Zealand the following year. The company now runs seven locations across Australia and New Zealand, serving major cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Auckland, and Christchurch. The new multi-user site in Truganina will serve customers from a range of industries, including automotive, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, and consumer goods.

The 19,000 m² facility offers 18,000 pallet spaces and features modern warehouse and inventory management systems to ensure efficient operations. Designed with sustainability in mind, the site is targeting a 5-star Green Star As-Built certification and incorporates a 200 kW solar system, 30,000-litre rainwater tanks, and ten electric vehicle charging stations.

“By expanding in the Melbourne metropolitan area, we are reinforcing our presence in Australia and creating the foundation for even more flexible and efficient logistics solutions,” said Mark Fitzpatrick, Regional COO Contract Logistics APAC, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. “The combination of strategic location, modern infrastructure, and a wide range of services offers real added value for our customers.”

Volker Sauerborn, Global COO Contract Logistics, added: “The opening of our new contract logistics center is another milestone in our mission to deliver innovative and sustainable logistics solutions worldwide. We are strategically developing our infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of our customers efficiently and with a strong environmental focus.”
