On January 1, 2022, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) came into effect, marking the official launch of the world’s largest free trade area. With the gradual unlocking of policy benefits, a new vitality has been injected to maintain stability and improve the quality of foreign trade activities. While always upholding the concept of customer-centric service, COSCO SHIPPING has promoted the implementation of RCEP policies, continuously expanded the scope of service, and facilitated the coordinated development of international logistics channels in the RCEP region in terms of railroad transportation, maritime transportation and port construction to support foreign trade enterprises.

Recently, the first batch of cargo from Haiphong, Vietnam, to Qinzhou for transhipment was efficiently loaded on COSCO SHIPPING M.V. MI YUN HE. The vessel departed from Qinzhou, destined for Hong Kong, and would connect to a bigger vessel in the later course of the voyage, marking the successful start of COSCO SHIPPING’s international transhipment service at Qinzhou Port.

This year, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has seized the opportunity of RCEP to vigorously promote the development of the spice industry and deepen the reform of customs clearance facilitation for the import of food-medicine homologous commodities.

Since the beginning of the pilot reform, the customs clearance process for food-medicine homologous commodities has been simplified, lowering the logistics costs for enterprises. As a result, all such commodities can be efficiently cleared by customs via the Beibu Gulf Port.
