Sole Logistics Partner for Airbus Asian Assembly Line Manages 46-Day Integrated Shipping and Land Transport Operation
COSCO SHIPPING has successfully provided the logistics service for the first batch of main components for Airbus’ Tianjin factory’s second assembly line. The precision aircraft components arrived in the coastal city of Tianjin as scheduled after a 46-day voyage and will soon enter the assembly process.
COSCO SHIPPING has served as the sole logistics partner for Airbus’ Asian assembly line for 17 years, relying on an integrated “shipping + port + logistics” supply chain service model. The latest operation began with barge transportation in Europe before the components were loaded at the Port of Hamburg in Germany. They were then transported by the M.V. COSCO SHIPPING Aries to the Tianjin Port in China, where they completed seamless unloading and land transportation. The voyage spanned from September 4 to October 20.

Global Collaboration Ensures Safety and Precision
Throughout the transportation process, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics & Supply Chain Management, COSCO SHIPPING Lines, and COSCO SHIPPING Europe worked collaboratively and efficiently with all involved parties. They precisely controlled every detail of the process, ensuring the smoothness and safety of the entire transportation and demonstrating COSCO SHIPPING’s strength in providing global-leading logistics and supply chain services for complex, high-value cargo.
The recipient facility, Airbus Assembly Line 2, began construction in September 2023. It will be responsible for assembling popular Airbus models, including the A319, A320, and A321. Once fully operational, the two Airbus assembly lines in Tianjin will collectively be capable of delivering 13 aircraft per month, significantly boosting the company’s production capacity.
