Following a strategic optimization of its regional network, CNC’s revamped JPX service has officially commenced operations, offering significantly faster transit solutions and improved operational stability across North and Southeast Asia. The updated rotation creates a high-speed link between Ningbo and the Malacca Straits, while doubling down on direct coverage for the Philippine market.

The first effective voyage under this new structure was the TB TAIYUAN, which made its call at Manila South on 16 March 2026.

Key Logistical Enhancements

The revamp focuses on “nodal excellence,” ensuring that major manufacturing hubs in China and Japan are more seamlessly connected to the transshipment powerhouses of Singapore and Malaysia.

  • The Ningbo–Malacca Express: A primary highlight of the revamp is the accelerated connectivity between Ningbo and the Malacca Straits ports (Singapore and Port Klang), designed to smooth regional cargo flows and reduce “buffer time” in the supply chain.
  • Strengthened Japan Exports: By optimizing transshipment via Ningbo and Singapore, Japanese exporters now have expanded reach into the broader ASEAN region and global long-haul routes.
  • Direct Manila Integration: The service now features direct connections from Port Klang and Singapore to both Manila North and Manila South, reducing handling complexity and improving reliability for Philippine importers.
  • Faster Manila-to-Japan Transit: The new loop delivers improved transit times for northbound cargo from the Philippines to Kobe and Nagoya, catering to time-sensitive agricultural and electronics exports.

Optimized Port Rotation

To ensure maximum schedule integrity and dependable weekly sailings, the JPX service utilizes a consistent fleet structure across the following rotation:

Kobe – Nagoya – Tokyo – Yokohama – Ningbo – Singapore – Port Klang – Manila North – Manila South – Kobe

Driving Supply Chain Agility

The JPX revamp is a response to the evolving trade patterns in Asia, where “just-in-case” inventory strategies require more frequent and reliable feeder connections. By providing a stable, fully-operated loop, the service offers shippers the agility needed to manage fluctuating production timelines in China and Japan while maintaining a steady flow of goods into the growing consumer markets of the Philippines.

This optimization reinforces the service’s role as a critical trade artery, balancing high-speed “express” legs with deep regional coverage.
