Cainiao’s self-developed technology for Intelligent Learning and Control for Smart Logistics Systems has been awarded the Science Progress Award at the 2024 Wu Wenjun AI Science & Technology Award, China’s most prestigious honor in the field of artificial intelligence. Cainiao is the only logistics company to receive this recognition.
The project team at Cainiao began its research and development efforts in 2017, culminating in an AI-powered system with fully proprietary intellectual property. This system has been widely implemented across Cainiao’s operations, including warehousing and delivery in China, cross-border logistics, and urban and rural distribution networks.
Cainiao’s technology has also been applied to smart manufacturing, optimizing logistics network planning, boosting operational efficiency, and generating significant economic value.
Cainiao, a global leader in smart logistics, continues to expand the commercialization and international reach of its logistics technologies. Its L4 autonomous delivery vehicles are now operating in over 30 districts and counties across China, and its automation and digitalization projects have been deployed in 28 countries.
The Wu Wenjun AI Science & Technology Award, named after the renowned Chinese mathematician and AI pioneer, is considered “China’s Highest Award for Intelligent Science and Technology” and represents the highest recognition in the field of artificial intelligence in the country.
