Wan Hai Lines recently held ship naming ceremonies for two of their vessels, WAN HAI 368 and WAN HAI 369, at the Japan Marine United Corporation ARIAKE Shipyard. The vessels are part of the third batch of 3,055 TEU series ships, totalling twelve in number, that Wan Hai Lines Ltd. and Japan Marine United Corporation have deployed.

The ship naming ceremony was attended by Ms. Eri Aburajima and Mr. Taku Murase, Vice President of Nissan Purchasing of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., who named WAN HAI 368. Ms Yoshiko Fujita of AGC Inc. and Mr Koichi Kurita, President of AGC LOGISTICS CO., LTD., named WAN HAI 369.

The 3,055 TEU series’ design emphasises energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. These vessels are equipped with fully balanced twisted bulb rudders and pre-swirl fins, and all the ships delivered are certified with “Smart Ship” notations.

Wan Hai Lines Ltd. also donated necessities to two charities in Japan, Jiaien Child Home and Kumamoto Tenshien, as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The company hopes this small token of charity will benefit the local community.
