LEO Global Logistics PCL (LEO), a leading Thai logistics provider, has been awarded the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award 2022 (AREA 2022) for Social Empowerment from Enterprise Asia. The award recognises LEO’s ongoing CSR efforts, especially regarding its ‘My School Project program.

Enterprise Asia is an independent organisation that aims to promote, support, and develop business potential in responding to society and the environment in Asia. The AREA award acknowledges businesses and leaderships in Asia with tremendous social and environmental responsibility and sustainable organisational development.

Mr Kettivit Sittisoontornwong, CEO of LEO Global Logistics, mentioned that winning the award is an honour for LEO and reflects its achievements in supporting and developing society. He also stated that achieving the AREA 2022 for Social Empowerment marks an important step for LEO on the regional stage, and highlights the company’s outstanding strategy for sustainable development.

Outlined in 2013, The ‘My School Project’ program lends help to schools and students in remote areas. After four rounds of success, the program brought new schoolhouses, playgrounds, and adequate teaching equipment to 300 students in four schools. In addition, the students received opportunities to develop various skills, thanks to the support and cooperation of LEO staff, customers, and several business alliances.

“LEO aims to organise a ‘My School Project’ program every other year. This year is the 5th round of the program, where we will lend our support to Thai hill tribe community learning center Baan Thi Mo, Tak Province. The facility is located in a remote area close to the Myanmar–Thailand border. We let our customers and business alliances participate in the program using our ocean or air transportation services. For each ocean or air shipment, we will donate US$1 toward the program. Additionally, I want to invite all our customers and partners to join our trip to renovate the school facility at the end of the program.” Mr Sittisoontornwong said.
