Yusen Logistics received a certificate of appreciation from the ASEAN Secretariat for valuable contribution to developing the Food Value Chain in the ASEAN region by educating the young generation and deepening the friendship between ASEAN and Japan.
At the request of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the ASEAN Food Industries Human Resource Development Association, Yusen Logistics has been participating in the ASEAN-Japan cooperation project since 2017 with Tsurumaki of Supply Chain Solutions Group 2, Food IV Team, and Uozumi of our SCM Advisor serving as instructors. Furthermore, in 2021, lectures were given online to students at agricultural universities and graduate schools in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam on food supply chains, including agricultural and fishery products, international transportation, and freshness-preserving transportation technology, together with examples of shipments handled by our subsidiaries in ASEAN region.
On May 12 this year, Yusen Logistics will give a lecture online for the University of Putra Malaysia students. TASCO YUSEN GOLD COLD SDN BHD, a subsidiary of our Malaysian company TASCO BERHAD has been audited by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai and is scheduled to acquire this standard in June. Going forward, as a company that meets the JSA-S1004 standards, it is expected to contribute to the realisation of the Foodbank Initiative, which is being undertaken by the Malaysian government and helping achieve the SDGs.
Yusen Logistics will continue to provide supply chain logistics services that meet customer needs, contribute to the global development of ASEAN and Japan’s food culture and industry through participation in public-private joint projects, and promote initiatives based on a sustainable long-term perspective.
