Wan Hai Lines Holds Ship Naming Ceremony for New Vessels accompanied by a Charity Donation

Wan Hai Lines Ltd. held ship naming ceremonies for WAN HAI 361, WAN HAI 362, and WAN HAI 366, accompanied by a charity donation on 18 April at Japan Marine United Corporation TSU Shipyard. WAN HAI 361 and WAN HAI 362 are the 10th & 11th vessels in the series of 3,013 TEU containerships, and WAN HAI 366 is the 2nd vessel in the series of 3,055 TEU vessels. They were all built by Japan Marine United Corporation TSU Shipyard. For the ship naming ceremony, Ms Chen Kuei-Hsuan and Mr Eric Lin, General Manager of the Taiwan Corporate Banking Department of Mizuho Bank, Ltd., will name WAN HAI 361. Ms Takako Kuramoto and Mr Hiroshi Tsujikawa, President Representative Director of Wismettac Foods Inc., will name WAN HAI 362. Lastly, Ms Aika Sumitomo will name WAN HAI 366 and Mr Yasushi Anzai, Division Manager of Supply Chain of ZEON CORPORATION.

The 3,013 TEU and 3,055 TEU series designs consider energy efficiency and environment-friendly aspects. These two series are equipped with fully balanced twisted bulb rudders with a pre-swirl fin, and all the ships delivered are certified with “Smart Ship” notations. In addition, 3,013 teu series are equipped with AMP (Alternative Maritime Power) system and meet the requirement for NOx Tier III. These new vessels are part of Wan Hai Lines’ efforts to pursue fleet upgrading to provide the best quality service to customers. In addition to naming the newbuilding, Wan Hai Lines donated necessities to three charities in Japan – Learning for All, Esperance Yokkaichi and Nabari Yougo Gakuen. The company hopes this small token could benefit the local community. The charity donation represents part of Wan Hai Lines’ motto, “We carry, we care.” The company is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, providing quality service to customers and bringing love to society.
