Unithai Port, a private container terminal operator located at the Chao Phraya River, is committed to supporting the utilization of clean and renewable energy by installing solar panels on the roof of its terminal warehouse.

In line with the current trends, many entrepreneurs aim to adopt alternative or clean energy sources, focusing on solar energy. Thailand, in this regard, is a country that has the full potential for solar energy production. Aside from the environmental advantages, business operators will also benefit from resource management efficiency and business cost reduction.

According to the trends, Unithai has installed a solar energy production system based on the Solar Rooftop concept, using more than 1,200 solar panels on top of the roof of the 3,600 sqm Unithai terminal warehouse, with a capacity exceeding 700 KW and the potential to produce more than 980,000 KW per year.

Mr. Wasa Jansangsuk, Deputy General Manager of Unithai, said, “Regarding the environmental concerns in the current situation, as the container terminal operator, which is a part of our society, we conduct our business on the ESG concept that drives the business along with the responsibilities towards the society, community, and the environment. We anticipate that installing solar panels across our 3,600 sqm area will reduce approximately 1,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.”
