SITC Signed a Contract with Xiamen Port Holding Group Build a Global Container Hub Port

On the afternoon of September 9, 2021, SITC and Xiamen Port Holding Group signed a three-year strategic cooperation framework agreement.

At the signing ceremony, Yang Xianxiang, vice chairman of the board of directors and CEO of SITC, said that the excellent business environment has become the gold-lettered signboard of Xiamen. Xiamen has industrial advantages, capital advantages, innovation advantages and talent advantages. In particular, the “Silk Road shipping” is a high-quality shipping service with specific service standards. As a member of the alliance, SITC will base on seven existing routes in Xiamen “One belt, one road” route and continue to strengthen the layout.

CaiLiqun, general manager of Xiamen Port holding group, introduced, as the fourteenth biggest port of the world and International Shipping Center, Xiamen port has excellent potential in construction of one belt, one road. “SITC can allocate global shipping resources. The two sides can unite with each other and complement each other’s advantages to build a platform based in Xiamen and cover the southeast coast dubbed ‘one belt, one road’ to become a global container hub port and achieve high-quality development”, he said.

After signing the contract, the two sides will focus on the layout of global routes and transit business, full logistics supply chain services, cross-border e-commerce comprehensive logistics service platform, docking of information platform, convenience and guarantee of operation services, expansion of port cargo source hinterland and development and maintenance of key customers.

According to the preliminary assumption, SITC will position Xiamen port as a regional container shipping home port, lay out global routes and establish a transit base. Therefore, the strategic goal of container throughput in Xiamen from 2021 to 2023 is to maintain double-digit growth. At the same time, the two sides will also cooperate in the whole logistics supply chain, professional logistics services, automation and informatization, cross-border e-commerce service platform, etc.
