ZMPC wins bidding of 12 quayside container gantry cranes

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZMPC) has signed a contract with the Sri Lanka Port Authority for the project of 12 quayside container gantry cranes and 40 automatic rail cranes for ECT terminal in East Port of Sri Lanka, with the contract amount of USD 283 million, which is also the largest overseas order of the Company this year. The project will be delivered in three batches and is expected to be completed by 2025.

ECT terminal in the east port of Sri Lanka is 100% owned by the State-owned Sri Lanka Port Authority (SLPA). A joint venture company will operate it to develop it into the deepest deep-water port container terminal at Colombo Port, making Colombo one of the leading trans-shipment, refuelling and cargo handling ports in Asia.

The project was officially open for bidding in May 2021. Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. stood out from many competitors with its excellent supply performance, strong production strength and solid professional quality, and finally won the bid award.
