MSC is excited to announce the launch of a new direct service aimed at improving connectivity between Europe and West Africa, specifically targeting Angola, Congo, and DR Congo. This initiative marks MSC’s first direct service from North-West Continental (NWC) ports to these key locations, promising faster transit times for a range of cargo types, including dry, reefer, and project cargoes.
The upgraded service will include direct calls to pivotal cities, such as Pointe Noire, which will see transit times of just 23 days from Rotterdam, 21 days from Antwerp, and 19 days from Le Havre. Additionally, Luanda will also benefit from transit times of 25 days from Rotterdam, 23 days from Antwerp, and 21 days from Le Havre. The service will further expand trade access to Matadi in the DR Congo via feeder services from Pointe Noire.
To bolster the direct service, MSC is offering comprehensive intermodal solutions that facilitate the transportation of goods from Pointe Noire to major capitals like Kinshasa and Brazzaville. Additionally, there are intermodal services in Angola to support cargo delivery from Luanda to inland destinations.
The new service rotation is set to commence in week 48, beginning on November 25, 2024, with MSC SUEZ voyage WM448A. The shipping route will follow this sequence: Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre, Casablanca, Las Palmas, Dakar, Conakry, Lome, Pointe Noire, and Luanda.
This direct service will complement MSC’s existing NWC to West Africa offerings, reinforcing the company’s commitment to enhancing its presence and connectivity in the region.
