Maersk has launched its first warehouse in France, a massive 75,000 m² facility located in Denain, Northern France. This strategically positioned warehouse will serve as a key fulfilment centre for one of the world’s leading e-commerce companies.
The warehouse is part of GLP Park Denain, a prime logistics hub situated near Lille in the Hauts-de-France region. This location offers excellent connectivity with easy access to major motorways and rail lines, ensuring smooth and efficient European distribution.
This new facility marks a significant milestone for Maersk in France, expanding its contract logistics and warehousing capabilities in this important market. Michele Cohonner, Regional Head of Maersk Contract Logistics in Europe, expressed excitement about partnering with their anchor customer to develop solutions that benefit both the company and its end customers.
The warehouse boasts impressive features, including 85 doors, a high ceiling for optimal storage, and a spacious truck yard. It is also equipped with an automated docking system and has received BREEAM Very Good certification for its sustainable design.
With this launch, Maersk now offers warehousing and distribution services in 15 European countries, further strengthening its global network. This expansion reflects Maersk’s commitment to providing comprehensive logistics solutions to meet the growing demands of the e-commerce industry.
