On the 19th of October 2022, Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) moved forward in its smart port transformation with the arrival of a further nine new autonomous trucks to add to the existing fleet of six.

The driverless electric trucks will further improve safety and service levels at HPT’s Terminal D at Laem Chabang Port and will align with HPT’s advanced technology roadmap.

HPT’s Terminal D is one of the most advanced container terminals in the world and is the first container terminal globally to implement mixed traffic mode terminal operations successfully.

Since 2020, the existing fleet of six autonomous trucks has already moved 120,000 containers within Terminal D.
