GEODIS Biofuel Truck Fleet UAE

GEODIS has launched a new fleet of eleven Euro 4 and Euro 6 biofuel trucks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), demonstrating its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and providing sustainable solutions for its customers.

This initiative supports GEODIS’s ambitious sustainability targets, which include a 42% reduction in GHG emissions from its vehicle fleets and buildings (Scopes 1 and 2) and a 25% reduction in the carbon intensity of subcontracted container shipping, road, and rail operations (Scope 3) by 2030, compared to 2022. The use of biofuel, which emits less CO2 than diesel, aligns with GEODIS’s science-based approach to reducing emissions and supporting the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming.

The new fleet, consisting of various truck sizes, will serve customers in sectors such as high-tech, retail, pharma, automotive, and industrial, providing freight transportation services across the Middle East.

Chris Cahill, Managing Director, GEODIS Middle East and India Subcontinent, emphasized the importance of the new fleet in the company’s growth strategy and its commitment to sustainability. He highlighted the integration of sustainable transportation and technologies as a key factor in positioning GEODIS as a leader in responsible logistics.

GEODIS has been expanding its presence in the Middle East, offering a comprehensive range of supply chain solutions, including freight, customs brokerage, contract logistics, and project logistics.
