Globally leading freight and logistics service provider DB Schenker has entered into a new partnership with the Australian Logistics Council (ALC) to improve the industry, strengthen the economy, and meet community and customer expectations.

ALC is the national peak body representing participants operating in and across the freight and logistics supply chain. Its focus is on delivering enhanced end-to-end supply chain safety, productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.

DB Schenker has approximately 76,600 employees across 1,850 locations in 130 countries, with more than 150 years of experience in freight and logistics globally and 60 years locally, increasing its ability to provide meaningful input to the partnership with the ALC.

“We are looking forward to a productive partnership that shapes the industry for the better,” said Craig Davison, CEO of DB Schenker Australia and New Zealand Cluster.

“The ALC is known for furthering the interests of the logistics industry through sharing knowledge, promoting best practices, reducing risk, and working pragmatically with all levels of government. We believe DB Schenker has the extensive local and global experience and resources to form a meaningful partnership,” he added.

Dr Hermione Parsons, Chief Executive Officer of the ALC, added that the DB Schenker partnership is a natural fit for the organisation. “DB Schenker supports industry and trade through global air and ocean freight, contract logistics, and supply chain management. Their global reach and long history in the industry will be highly valuable as we continue to advocate for the Australian supply chain and freight logistics industry,” she said.

“DB Schenker’s corporate strategy involves ‘unleashing logistics for a future in motion’ and is guided by market expertise, working culture, corporate sustainability, digital and process excellence, and economic strength. These success factors align well with the ALC’s activities and vision for the industry,” concluded Davison.
