A special rail-sea intermodal train fully loaded with twenty-eight 40-foot containers gradually departed from the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port Center in Henan Province. The cargo will be shipped to West Africa after being loaded onto COSCO SHIPPING container vessels via Qingdao Port.

The train carried products manufactured by LONCIN Motor, a direct customer of COSCO SHIPPING, to West Africa. The service capacity of the cargo collection and distribution system has recently been constrained under the pandemic outbreaks across China. LONCIN is in the central regions of the country and the traditional road-sea transportation mode. Moreover, the increase in transportation cost and uncertainty of logistical efficiency further added to the dilemma faced by the company.

However, the shipping conditions of the railway stations in the region and the customer’s production plan, COSCO SHIPPING Lines Qingdao Henan Branch has formulated a cost-effective and efficient transportation plan that helped solve the customer’s shipping problems.
