On July 5, as the vessel “Hong Tu” carefully berthed at Hainan Yangpu International Container Terminal and delivered a yacht transported with special containers, it marked the successful completion of COSCO SHIPPING’s task to transport the Italian yacht for exhibition at the Second China International Consumer Products Expo. The yacht was shipped from the Port of Genoa, Italy, and transited through Singapore to the destination port of Xiao Chantan.

As yachts are often oversized, overweight and fragile with a high value, the transportation of yachts is highly demanding and must be planned and managed on-site by a professional team, with a meticulous design of binding and hoisting schemes. To meet such needs, COSCO SHIPPING Lines Hainan used 10 40-foot flat containers arranged horizontally to form a platform of about 23 meters long and 12 meters wide on Tie 84, Slot 14B07-10, Bay 14 of the vessel with the body of the yacht fixed to the containers with steel cables. This is the first time for Yangpu International Container Terminal to handle cargo loaded in this manner.

The customer expressed their particular satisfaction with the total logistics service provided by COSCO SHIPPING.
