CMA CGM has announced the launch of its new weekly shipping service, named the Maya Service, specifically designed for the West Coast of Central America. This initiative is set to enhance connectivity in the region and address recent logistical challenges faced by local businesses.

The Maya Service is fully operated by CMA CGM and will feature a reliable rotation that includes key ports: Lazaro Cardenas, Puerto Caldera, Corinto, Acajutla, and Puerto Quetzal, before returning to Lazaro Cardenas. This service will utilize a fleet of two dedicated ships—the m/v “CMA CGM SURABAYA” and the m/v “MAGDALENA SCHULTE”—ensuring a direct weekly service that underscores CMA CGM’s commitment to quality and reliability.

One of the significant advantages of this new service is its ability to offer connections between Asia and the West Coast of South America through Lazaro Cardenas, enhancing trade opportunities in the region. The inaugural departure for the Maya Service is scheduled for January 2nd, 2025, with the m/v “CMA CGM SURABAYA” marking the first voyage.

This development signals CMA CGM’s ongoing commitment to supporting the growth and efficiency of businesses in Central America amidst evolving market dynamics.
