Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) recently organized the Asia Damage Prevention Meeting from December 7th to 8th in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference’s objective was to enhance the quality of transportation in Southeast Asia. Around 40 people from seven countries attended this meeting, including representatives from “K” Line and cargo-handling companies in Southeast Asia.

The conference’s motto was “Strict compliance with “K” Line standard operating procedures (SOPs) is the guide to zero damage,” which emphasized the importance of adhering to strict safety and operation procedures to ensure zero damage during marine transportation and cargo handling operations. The participants discussed ways to improve the quality of services and safe operation of car carriers. They also shared new ideas about cargo handling equipment, operation procedures, and handling next-generation cargo, such as electric vehicles (BEVs).

During the conference, “K” Line launched the K Learning system, a new education system for workers that has started introducing worker training at each port. To encourage quality activities, “K” Line presented awards to the representatives of “K” Line and cargo handling companies in Southeast Asia that made outstanding efforts to achieve the best cargo handling quality in 2023.

“K” Line plans to continue to improve its global RORO service quality and strengthen its relationships with each Southeast Asian port through regular Asia Damage Prevention meetings.
